Only a few days left until Cafe Racer’s February/March issue drops and we wanted to turn our readers on to a sneak preview of an upcoming feature story we’re quite proud of. In our ongoing quest to serve-up detailed technical information, we conducted an in-depth interview with Bryan Dwight owner and spray-gun wizard of South Carolina’s BD’s Cycles. Having restored and expertly painted hundreds of two-wheelers, Dwight was able to lend some genuine science and history to the art of recreating both classic motorcycle paint schmes and mapping out custom work. We had no idea how many types of paint have been utilized by the OEM’s over the decades and how difficult a challenge it can be restoring an original showroom look in the 21st Century. If you’ve a vintage bike in need of a serious resurfacing, this is a story you’ll not want to miss. Check out the story, filled with some stunning examples of his work in the new mag.
